Safer Neighbourhoods is about local policing; police and partners working with you to identify and tackle issues of concern in your neighbourhood. Each team is made up of one Sergeant, two Constables and three Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). Their aim is to listen and talk to you, and find out what affects your daily life and feelings of security. These might be issues such as anti-social behaviour, graffiti, noisy neighbours or vandalism. They work in partnership with you and other agencies to find lasting solutions.
If you have concerns about day-to-day crime and disorder issues: or if you would like to get involved (by joining your local Ward Panel), please contact your local team. You can find contact numbers on our Contacts page.
The team plays an important role in providing reassurance to residents and gathering important information for investigations. Co-operative working is the key to success and draws upon the need to use the wider policing family.
